| | stressed | ] | This weeks meetings:
Wednesday, April 13, 2005 7:00 PM RH 151
Thursday, April 14, 2005 7:00 PM AB3 102
I CANNOT stress how IMPORTANT it is to come to one of these meetings. The future of ROW depends on this meeting, haha. We will be finalizing plans for next semester, asking for input, and electing new officers. We NEED people to volunteer for an officer position!! We have open VP, Secretary, Treasurer, Historian, and Public Relations Chair. Only one person has stepped up, we need four more!! The cookies will not be homemade as it is the end of the semester and I have negative time.
See you all on either Wednesday or Thursday. |

Last night was Sexual Evolution. It was very well attended by students, but as always, there could have been more people there. Sometimes I wonder if the students wonder how much money the school spends to have these kinds of programs. Then I wonder if they realize it's coming out of their tuition money. Use it or lose it.
Suzi Landolphi was very energetic, and so funny. She made the whole room relax so we could laugh when we felt like laughing or clap when we felt like clapping. It was exciting to see how many students care about safer sex.
Not too much happening in the near future, but as previously posted, we will be having a meeting on April 13 or 14, which ever you can make it to.
I sent out an e-mail about this, but April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Read more: http://www.now.org/issues/violence/033005april.html |

| | optimistic | ] | This is the new journal for Race of Women (ROW) at Florida Gulf Coast University. I'm hoping this will help our members to keep track of what ROW is doing, and help them to be motivated to show up to events.
Last night was the last Movie Night for Women's History Month. The movie was "Spirit of Women: Sisters of '77." It was about the National Women's Conference in Houston, Texas in November of 1977. For those of you who missed it, you missed some good cookies and an awesome movie. All in all, Women's History Month events were not well attended by our members, but it appears the one's who did attend enjoyed them. Thank you to all who participated, and a special thank you to David who told me he enjoyed my cookies.
Tonight is Sex Evolution at 7PM in the Sprint Room. I am actively trying to get permission to set up some information for ROW and have a sign up sheet. Yesterday I recieved a box of stickers, pamphlets and zines from NARAL; I also recieved some information with our affiliation packet from FMF. Please come out and support this program with us!!
Activism does not result from inactivity.
The next ROW meeting will be April 13 or 14 at 7PM. We are having it on two nights to make the meetings available to everyone. Please mark your calendars as we will be discussing some very important issues about the structure of ROW and how we can remain an active part of FGCU. Also, anyone interested in an officer postition, please please please e-mail us at rowfgcu@hotmail.com. |
